The Staines Culture Hub project is a place-based programme to create a strategic step change in how people design, engage with, work in and enjoy culture/arts in the Spelthorne. It is a two-year project funded by Arts Council England (£399k) and match funding from partners (£125k) with young people as its key audience.
There are several programme strands including the new Culture Hub at the new Staines library, Youth Leadership, Creative Skills, and a Schools Programme. The Schools Programme will expand opportunities for children and young people to experience high quality cultural learning including those in hidden pockets of deprivation and facing other barriers to engagement. The schools programme will be delivered by Culture Box Surrey which is led by Surrey Arts.
We are looking to fund creative practitioners/organisations to deliver on some or all aspects of the programme. Delivery of activity taking place in schools will likely take place from Autumn 2025. Art forms which schools have expressed a particular interest in include digital art such as graphic design, photography, and multi-media. However, we are interested in hearing from practitioners across all art forms. The project will focus on delivery in both upper primary schools and secondary schools.
If you/your organisation is interested in being involved in the delivery of some of this activity, please get in touch to let us know what you may be able to offer – [email protected]
