Delight’s ‘Box of Delight’

Box of Delight

During the COVID-19 lockdown 2,000 school children from Surrey primary schools were able to be creative at home with their very own Box of Delight. Box of Delight, a special arts-based learning and wellbeing project, delivered art activities, materials and inspiration to each child’s home. The project was designed to take the children on a creative adventure and each element of the project was designed to have a ‘wow’ factor. The pupils worked step-by-step through 4 carefully designed art activities, all of which were child-led and had enough materials to enable them to repeat activities, or to share the project with siblings or parents/carers.

The children’s final ‘Box of Delight’ creations – a collection of beautiful, individually decorated 3D birds – were assembled in a special celebratory installation, created by Paintbox artist Gina McAdam and held at the Watts Gallery and Artists Village in August 2020.
