Culture Collaborative

A partnership of schools based around New Haw Community Primary School, Addlestone is working collaboratively to support cultural learning.  All are currently working together on the Artsmark accreditation for each school.  Recent activity has included a training and network event based around Debate Mate.  The value of the Debate Mate programme was recognised by Ofsted during the inspection of one of the schools in the partnership, Riverbridge Primary School.

Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is promoted well across the school. They have frequent and varied opportunities to explore and develop their ideas. For instance the ‘Debate Mate’ lunchtime event has been very successful in engaging pupils in active discussion and current issues”.

One of the Culture Collaborative schools, Burhill Primary School, has provided a case study and two videos relating to its acclaimed ‘gallery’ project which has been run for two consecutive years. Below you can find out details of the project and watch the videos. The latest exhibition is currently in the planning stage, and the new film will be added below as soon as the exhibition has taken place.

“The curriculum is vibrant, stimulating and provides rich experiences for all pupils. It is strengthened by the high quality of art, dance, music and sports, and this contributes to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.”
